Programme Overview
Physiotherapists provide services to people in order to develop maintain and restore maximum physical health, movement and functional ability throughout their lifetime. It involves treating patients of all ages with a range of illnesses and conditions, including those with back and neck problems, sports injuries, arthritis, or those recovering from strokes and operations. The methods employed include exercise therapy, manipulative procedures, and a variety of electrical treatments.
In this programme, students undergo two components to physiotherapy: theory and clinical practice. Physiotherapy theory would cover the basic and applied sciences. Clinical practice takes place in hospitals and clinical centres around Ireland, in collaboration with our clinical partners and the Health Service Executive.
